A Bit About Me
I'm Charlie Warren McGinnes, a live sports commentator with an extensive background in all facets of the sports media landscape.

I've had a passion for sports since I was a child both here in the UK and during a spell in the USA and I'm most comfortable in a live performance environment. I'm a lifelong learner and have a significant amount of experience in a variety of roles in the sports media industry from production to performance and presentation.
I'm a great communicator with an eye for detail, a creative approach to problem-solving, and an adaptable and flexible nature. I'm always looking for new opportunities to grow and develop my skills. I'm passionate about sports and I strive to make every one of my commentaries exciting and engaging.
Work Experience
Freelance Sports Commentator
2018-Present

Freelance Digital Producer
2017-Present

Sports Journalist/Copywriter
2014 - 2018

I am a highly experienced and passionate commentator with expertise in a variety of sports.
My journey began with ITN Productions where I got my initial taste of commentary. From there I honed and perfected my scripted craft on County Championship Highlights for the ECB and corporate voiceover cleints.
I then trained as an Audio Description Commentator for Sports Presentation Company at Wembley Stadium where I commentate on major matches and sporting events including NFL.
In my current role, I have provided over 200 live audio commentaries for LiveScore and Flashscore via GBVision. I'm a highly-rated commentator within the organisation, regularly trusted to cover flagship events, such as the Champions League Final, England at the FIFA World Cup, Premier League and a whole host of international tournaments.
I am passionate about storytelling and creating compelling content. My freelance career began when I was still in full-time roles, editing EFL highlights packages with ITN Productions. While working alongside experienced commentators, I gained an understanding of commentary and the craft behind it.
From there, I expanded my skillset to include my current freelance digital/social media role with ITV ahead of their coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Since then, I have worked in a wide range of production roles for Sunset+Vine and Whisper. A feature of these roles was my association with County Cricket developing into my five-year stint providing voiceover and highlights of England's premiere first-class cricket tournament.
My journey in sports media started, with a variety of roles that gave me the opportunity to cut my teeth in the industry.
I was a Senior Journalist and Social Media manager at startup AtTheMatch.com and later a sports focussed marketing copywriter for international betting brands Betway and Betclic in full-time roles.
This gave me a detailed understanding of how different audiences respond to content in different ways, which means I'm adaptable and flexible to a range of different requirements
